Shomi Vaibhav Singh Nirban
Lt Col Shomi Vaibhav Singh Nirban was born in Kerala, India and is now settled in Sikar, Rajasthan. She hails from a family of Military Officers spanning over three generations. She did her schooling from St Patricks High School, Pune. She is an alumnus of Pune University, the prestigious Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai and the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (MCEME), Secunderabad. She has done her BE and M Tech in Computer Science.
After her military training at OTA, Chennai, she got commissioned into the Indian Army and was posted into the heat of Counter Insurgency/Counter Terrorism Operations. She along with her many other achievements is the first woman officer into an actively deployed Armored Regiment.
During her 20 years of exemplary career, she has served in numerous locations throughout the country. She has held the prestigious appointment of Assistant Military Secretary in the Military HQ, New Delhi. For her exemplary service she has been awarded with the coveted Army Commander’s Commendation Card. She is a born visionary leader and strategist. The Officer is deft at orchestrating tasks and mobilizing manpower to develop and establish systems that protect and sustain essential operational functions.
The officer now runs a successful venture in Organic Farming called Shovania Vedic Farm. She has set an example with the Vedic way of farming, making traditional farming a self-sustained venture and has been recognized by various forums for the same. She believes in community growth and welfare and is in the process of forming a cooperative model of business at her village. She is highly decisive and performance driven professional with experience of delivering transformational change in overall operations. Experienced at managing sourcing activities with a view to enhance efficiency of the organization and achieving cost reduction through improved efficiency of operations, vendor development, materials management, inventory control and waste elimination. She is an asset to the World Anti-Terrorism Organization.
